Esmeralda Mendoza is an Indigenous Maya Mam woman who was born in Guatemala. Her parents brought her to the U.S. as a young child. She is the co-founder of Radio B’alam-Mayan Voices, a program to provide information and support to Mam-speaking immigrant communities in the SF Bay Area.
